Peruse my website to find two charming books starring two most unlikely friends – an extinct Great Auk and a puffin! How similar or different are these two birds? What lengths will Aukid the Great Auk go to in order to try and find more Great Auks? See both the rivalry and the friendship between these two birds! These books encourage children to learn whilst they read and create stories of their own.
Here is an absolutely charming video from BBC Springwatch showing the re-uniting of two puffins getting prepared to have a puffling (baby puffin) of their own. Its definitely worth watching!
Forget about the storm this weekend. Here is a book that children can use to change/alter or add to the story or indeed start to write their own.
Encourage them to read the adventures of Aukid the Great Auk and Park the puffin.
Educational and fun!
An interesting article showing research into the breeding habits of the Great Auk. Well worth a read!
A really interesting article from Jess Thomas’s research. Well worth reading!
An interesting article showing how vulnerable the Great Auk was. We must ensure that this devistation of a species cannot be repeated again!
My books will help children to understand this vulnerability by presenting Aukid and Park in a human-like way. They will see how these birds think and feel and will empathise with Aukid as he seeks to find more Great Auks.
Aukid enjoyed his outing to the Lanivet Church Christmas Fair last evening. If you would like a book – please place your order on here. Last date for posting for Christmas is 18th December but I will deliver locally up until Christmas Eve.
Interesting article to read. Very sad! One reason why Aukid is here educating children about the Great Auk and helping to stop this happening again!
Books have been around for generations. They are timeless and often give us a window that takes us into a different world. It can be fun to peer into the world belonging to the characters of a book. We can laugh with them, smile or empathise with these characters.
Get lost in a story or have a go at creating one of your own. For under £9, with no postage charge at the moment, you can own a book (one of two in a series) about an extinct Great Auk bird and a puffin – two totally unique characters, with a groundbreaking version of the book that enables children to draw their own pictures or write their own stories.
Pop over to the website and take a look!
Here is a book that is completely interactive. Read a few pages and then draw some pictures or write your own alternative story. Be in charge of Aukid and Park’s adventures or write your own story using your own characters.
For all the budding authors out there – let your imagination take over!
Both books are available in the story-only format or with extra ruled and plain pages.
